I didn’t forget about my lil baby blog. This past week got the best of me and I was kind of all over the place, but I’m back don’t y’all (you guys) worry!
Let’s start with a little motivation and inspiration for this Monday evening..
“Too often, many people choose goals that are not inspiring and empowering to them. Goals that have no true meaning to them, not coming from within but from the ideas and opinions from others to build their dreams. This often leads to frustration and dissatisfaction even if they are able to achieve that borrowed dream. To have more empowering goals – look within. What resonates with you, your desires and aspirations? If it’s truly meaningful to you, you will less look out for motivation from external sources, the motivation will come from within. Because you choose your goals and you know exactly your compelling reasons to achieve them. Live your dreams.” ― Bernard Kelvin Clive
Boom. Back on track.
So what have I been doing all week? Well, thanks to my “Grateful Journal” that I’ve been keeping and my overly organized calendar I can look back and piece it all together.
2.8.15 – How could I forget this day? The weather was AMAZING! I started my day by getting some things organized and writing a blog post. It was the first morning in a while that I had no where that I had to be and I made sure to appreciate it and take full advantage of it.
My boyfriend and I went to check out Draught’s new brunch. I had seen pictures from their first one and was entirely sold when I saw the pics of the “Make Your Own Mimosa bar”. You could order a bottle of champagne for the table and then had your choice of adding pineapple, orange, mango, grapefruit or pomegranate juice along with strawberries, oranges, raspberries and blueberries! Yes, yes, yes! Oh, and I LOVE breakfast food.
Time to experiment.
Fruit will make this healthy.
Chicken and waffles. Hash browns. YUM.
After that we went for a walk at the Whitewater Center and later that night went to see the movie “The Loft”.
Even in the winter, I still love this place!
Needless to say it was a great day and night.
2.9.15 – National Pizza Day. Enough said. I’m a firm believer in celebrating holidays and will not be having any pizza while doing the 30 Clean…so yeahhh.
Dear Fuel, Thank you. Love Always, DC.
2.10.15 – My first Tuesday in Mooresville. (Courtney, we miss you already!)
2.11.15 – Didn’t burn the house down. In Charleston, I had a “Cook Timer” option on my oven. Apparently, I got that oven confused with the one here in Charlotte. I left the house at 3 to head to Pure Barre and set the timer to have the oven turn off in 30 minutes since Randall wouldn’t be home until after 5. Well, that didn’t happen. It was still on when he got home. Let’s just say his wings were extra crispy. Yikes.
2.12.15 – I got my HURR did.
Kristy Misch is so great at what she does!! ❤
BREAKING NEWS: Zoe’s added two new hummuses to their menu – Roasted Red Pepper and Basil Pesto. I present to you THEE Sampler Trio.
I basically licked the plate clean. Oh, and had it again the next day.
2.13.15 – I made the The Best Macaroni & Cheese Ever, Funfetti Cupcakes and Oreo Red Velvet Cupcakes. I subbed the Oreos for RED VELVET Oreos. I actually had this idea during abs in Pure Barre the other day. There was a whole Oreo placed on the bottom, Red Velvet cake mix and then the frosting was homemade with Oreos blended into it.
Just what we needed…30 Cupcakes in the house.
And then there was the mac n cheese. WHAT is WRONG with me? It’s like I’m eating all of my bad foods as if I can NEVER have them again. It’s just 30 days, CALM DOWN.
2.14.15 – I was in Spahkle City leading a training and made it back in time for a nice evening in with my #1.
2.15.15 – I taught a Single Ladies class at Pure Barre. Best part, it was all Beyonce music. At one part, I got chills and another point I got a little teary eyed. I think I may have been strutting around the room as I taught. Queen B will do that to ya or just me (and Sarah). Spent some time shopping at Northlake and the outlets. Last night we went to Bartender’s Ball and had a wonderful evening.
❤ ❤ ❤
And I’ll leave you with this because I think it’s absolutely perfect…
“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.” – Bob Marley
Southern friends, were you able to enjoy that gorgeous Sunday? Northern friends, are you guys surviving in the snow up there?! If all food was created equal what’s on the top of your list of favorites? And What About Bob?! (one of my favorite movies of all time) How awesome and beautiful are his words?!
