Home again, home again, jiggety-jig

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald

For me, Labor Day has always marked the end of summer, but I guess today it’s time for me to say a big hello to Fall. I headed up North this past weekend, but before I fill you in on that, let’s recap the past week and a half or so!

After buying the Too Faced eyeshadow pallet, that I just HAD to have, I found myself back at Ulta.

Pshh… speak for yourself. I’m like a lost child in a candy store. Overwhelmed. Need everything. Don’t know where to begin… Then suddenly panic and realize I need my Mommy.

The day before Labor Day we headed to the Greenville Drive game.  It was the second to last one of the season.

“But, oh, oh, the summer niiiiiights”

And then there was fireworks…

Woohoo!

I’ve been spending a whole lot of time at my second home…

Speaking of passion… ^

One of the girls that I teach with, Liz, invited Randall and I to come out to Whiskey After Dark.  I’m clearly no whiskey connoisseur, but hey, I’m willing to give any liquid treat a try.

Cheers.

So, now back to this past weekend. On Thursday, I flew up to Providence, Rhode Island and started to make my way to my “office” aka Christina’s house.  I decided to pop up shop at Papa Gino’s for a bit before heading to Christina’s. When in Rome (or in New England).

Once Christina got home from work, we quickly headed to Turn Style Cycle to get our spin on. It was my first experience on the RealRyder bikes. LOVED it! We ended up going back the next night.  It’s been a while since I was on a bike and I forgot the importance of not sitting into it too much. YIKES! Regardless, both teachers led a great class and I would definitely go back when I am in the area again.

They have a  few different options to pick from:

Be sure to check them out if you’re in the area!

Afterwards we headed to Lone Star to refuel and “hydrate”.  Christina and I devoured some guacamole and chips and then each opted to get two tacos.  The tacos were delicious and two was plenty.  We both started with a margarita and then felt compelled to try the “Mexican Happy Meal”.

I don’t care for beer.. When is a tequila shot ever a good idea?.. and what the heck is Sangrita (there’s lots of different variations, but traditionally it is orange juice, lime juice, pomegranate based grenadine, chile powder and jalapeno).  All that being said, it was a fun lil party…mainly just fun to order.

On Saturday, I led a training at Pure Barre Sudbury.  Great group of girls and as always so fun to get to meet more teachers from different parts of the country.  Saturday night, I went by a friend of the family’s house to hang with some family and friends. Not for too long though… I was beat.

Sunday afternoon, I went to see my Nana and Papa Cote before heading to meet two of my best friends from High School, Ashley and Lianne.  We met up at The Grange in Providence. It was so delicious.  The appetizer and entree were both great, but the brownie sundae really won me over. The brownie itself was perfect and then it was topped with peanut butter ice cream, salted caramel popcorn and coconut whipped cream on the side. I feel like I am forgetting something… Ashley, help me out here?! Afterwards I went back to Ashley (and Keith)’s.  It was great to catch up (even though we talk just about everyday) and just hang.  My alarm was set for 3:30am…and it sure came just as early as it sounds.

REWIND…Sunday morning, it was my cousin Heather’s shower. She’s beat me to the engagement and having a little one, but I could not be more excited and happy for her and her fiancee.

She’s having a baby girl, so get ready for some serious pink…

How cute is the EOS chapstick?! And how genius to have us write our addresses on the envelopes – one less thing for Heather to have to worry about, right?

This creation was just too cute.

Look at this pathetic thing. Madison, I apologize in advance – I will buy you things that look much better than this.

Like outfits like this…

I ugly cried when she walked in. No joke.

Everyone in this photo laughed at me. (Nana, Aunt Judy, Mom & Aunt June) Ok, maybe Nana didn’t laugh at me ❤

And then let’s save the best for last…

To Heather: It’s seem like yesterday that we were tearing through Christmas presents on Christmas Eve at Nana and Papa’s house…Going on trips to Canobie Lake Park and Six Flags (or was it Rocky Point…or wait did we even go to either?!)…Having a monthly family birthday party. For as long as I remember we always shared them since our birthdays were just two days apart – then along came Andie ;)…Making ice cream sundaes with every topping imaginable… Having countless sleepovers… Trying new foods – yeah, right, you may be the pickiest eater that I know…A whole lot of awkward photos…Being flower girls together… and so so so many more memories. I’ve always cherished that my cousins have been more like siblings. Now that you’re about to have a baby girl of your own, I can’t wait to meet her.  I know I speak for all your family and friends, when I say that we can’t wait for her to experience the wild, supportive, and loving family that we are all so lucky to have.  ❤
